The HOSA Conference Management System is a Java application capable of
managing registration, billing, competitive events, sectioning, and
tabulation for a typical State or National HOSA Conference.
It also integrates with this website to bring Online Conference Registration to
Regional, State, and National Conferences.
DO NOT run the first time installation if you need data currently in your
system. It could potentially delete your database permanently. Download the Upgrade
and follow the appropriate instructions below.
Minimum System Requirements:
- Windows XP Service Pack 2 or Later
- 768 Mb RAM
- 2 GHz Intel Processor or Athlon 64
- 150-200 MB Free HDD Space
- 800x600 Screen Resolution
- Broadband Internet Connection (1 Mbps/DSL/Cable)
- Java Runtime Environment (Required to run the Installer...most systems already have one that will work.)
Upgrade Instructions:
Make sure the HOSA CMS is closed, and save hosacms-1.0.jar into the HOSA CMS installation directory (default install
directory is at c:\Program Files\hosacms). Verify that the upgrade worked by looking at the version number
under Help, About in the HOSA CMS.
Installation Instructions (jar file):
Double-click cmsclient-installer.jar and follow the prompts. If the
install program does not start when you double-click, then you do not have a
suitable Java Runtime Environment installed.
Installation Instructions (exe file):
Double-click cmsclient-installer.exe and follow the prompts.
Other Platforms:
While not officially supported, the HOSA CMS will run on any platform with
a Java Runtime Environment Version 5.0. For Unix-like platforms, the hosacms.sh
script in the installation path may be modified to suit your Java installation. If
you are running a Mac, Java 5.0 is in BETA and will require manual manipulation
of the PATH to successfully run the script.
