Simple as One, Two, Three
For many of the over 4000 HOSA members who attended the National Leadership Conference last June, Anaheim, California provided a dream-come-true experience. As Lisa Meadows from Western High School in Florida wrote on her event evaluation, "Everybody was friendly. I loved it! Thank you for the great experience. . .I'll never forget it."
Welcome to 1997-1998, and to what could be the start of a very special year for HOSA members! It's a new year - with a new group of students to excite, to challenge, and to watch as they reach their highest potential.
For most HOSA members, the journey begins in the Health Occupations classroom at the secondary, postsecondary, and collegiate levels. In the classroom, HOSA serves to support the educational program in exciting and rewarding ways. But before students can have a "dream come true" - they have to have a dream. HOSA is what dreams are made of.
OK. OK. Enough of that "dream" stuff. Just exactly how do we make it all happen?!
Glad you asked. The answer is - it's as easy as ONE - TWO - THREE.
| ONE | GATHER MEMBER INFORMATION What a great job for a HOSA member! Recruit members, gather essential information, help with record keeping, etc. Does your chapter have an application form? If not, make one! Be sure to include complete names, addresses, and phone numbers. (Remember, today's HOSA members are tomorrow's Alumni members.) |
| TWO | GET THE CODE That would be your chapter's charter number and password number. Where do you get it? Ask your State Advisor or call 1-800-321-HOSA and someone from the National Office will help you. |
| THREE | OPEN AND CLICK It's 1997 - and YOU should be surfing the 'Net! Affiliation on the Internet is fast, easy, and efficient. Here are some important guidelines to follow when affiliating on the Internet.

What? You don't like computers? You had challenges with Internet affiliation last year? Hey - that's OK. We've got the bugs out now, and Internet affiliation will be a breeze - even if you aren't an experienced user.
No Internet access? Ask your HOSA membership. One of your chapter members may have Internet Access at home and would welcome the opportunity to serve his or her chapter by entering the chapter's affiliation information.
What if you mess up? No problem! Call, E-mail, FAX or write HOSA Headquarters with your corrections, and they will be made for you.
Technology isn't always easy - but it sure can be exciting! Start your 1997-98 HOSA year off with a bang by increasing your membership and affiliating through the Internet. Once you take care of the details, you can work on the dreams.
