Keep On Running!
Mitch Shores, National HOSA President, believes that the 1997-98
Executive Council reminds him of an elevator: "We will always be
here to take HOSA members to a higher level. We look forward to
helping HOSA members and to finding ways to accommodate them." Mitch
feels strongly that, "the race is not always to be
the swift . . . but to those who keep on running." Mitch
anticipates a great year and is an anxious to meet as many
enthusiastic HOSA members as possible.
Process To Have A National Officer Come To Your State
Officers have the opportunity to attend a state for the Fall
Leadership Conference, Officer Training, State Leadership Conference,
and other state activities by writing a letter requesting the
preferred officer and a second choice, the day(s) the officer will
need to be in your state, and what you want the officer to
do (keynote address, workshop, officer training, staging, etc.). All
requests must be in writing and sent to: Mitch Shores,
National HOSA President, National HOSA Headquarters, 6021 Morriss
Road, Suite 110, Flower Mound, TX 75028.
Officers are selected as school schedules permit and cost. Within
ten days of your request, a reply will be received. A state's
costs and responsibilities are: ½ the costs of airfare,
lodging (it is hopeful that the national officer can stay with
state officers), meals and transportation to/from the airport (if
local transportation is not provided).
