Visual images show that there are differences in what we see. We see things
differently. we see what we are prepared to see. Some students do not see the same
things that HOSA members ses. HOSA as we see it - an organization that is student-led
and promotes exclusively health careers.
HOSA leaders realize that visual images and words have no meaning - people have meaning!
Our background, experiences, expectations, gender, ethnicity and more help us give meaning
to what we see or hear.
HOSA leaders recognize the value of putting on the glasses of others! We take off our glasses and
try to see the world differently. In their career field, HOSA leaders see opportunities while others
see barriers. HOSA leaders see the good in others and others
see what's bad.
The visual images on this page help us evaluate ourselves. Are you able to see the old woman AND
the young girl? Are you able to see the rabbit AND the duck? If you can see from a different
perspective, you are well on your way to being a leader in the health care profession!
