In 2015, HOSA–Future Health Professionals welcomed

a new organizational division, the Middle School

Division. The 2015 Delegate Assembly voted to

recognize the Middle School Division as a separate

entity beginning with the 2015-2016 membership year.

HOSA middle school members are enrolled in grades

6-8 and affiliated chapters serve students interested in

or planning to pursue a career in the health professions.

The official definition for HOSA middle school member

interested in the HOSA Competitive Events Program is: A

middle school student is: a) is enrolled in a state-approved

health science program or is planning to pursue a career

in the health professions; and b) has not been promoted to a

secondary institution (grades 9-12) prior to the state’s annual
