  Module Five: Competitive Events Management

  Competitor Experience - Select an event and "compete" in the event. You may use your imagination in designing an activity to meet this goal. Report your activity (description and personal experience) on the eGroup.
   
For example:
   
 
    Give a prepared speech in class on course-related content.  
    Allow students to "grade the teacher" using the Prepared Speaking guidelines.
   
 
    Submission: Prepare a recap document of your experience that includes those individuals participating. E-mail the document to the Course Instructor at the address specified on the first page of the course syllabus. Post the document to WebCT's "Conference/Forum" communication option for course members to read.    
                   
  Judge Experience - Volunteer to serve as a judge at a CTSO (Career Technical Student Organization) or school event. Report your experience (description and evaluation) on the eGroup.
   
 
    Submission: Prepare a recap document of your experience that includes those individuals participating. E-mail the document to the Course Instructor at the address specified on the first page of the course syllabus. Post the document to WebCT's "Conference/Forum" communication option for course members to read.  
     
  Event Management - Serve as an event manager in a local, area, district or regional competitive event. Submit a written summary of the experience to include:
    
 
    Facts (event, date, time, location, event).  
    Evaluation of the results (strengths and weaknesses of the event).  
    Recommendations for improvement of the event (process or guidelines).

    Submission: Save the summary form to you computer and complete the form. Prepare a recap document of your experience that includes those individuals participating.
