Event Updates:
3/30/2010 - Public Service
Announcement (PSA) - Guidelines updated to clarify that
competitors will bring a portable DVD
player or laptop computer for showing the PSA. HOSA
will NOT provide a television, screen, cables, or electricity
for the event.
JANUARY EVENT UPDATE
All of the event
guidelines have been updated
to add the header "Event Guidelines".
This is done in an attempt to assure that HOSA members understand the
rules of each event. At NLC 2010, competitors are required to bring their
copy of the event guidelines to their specific event orienation. You
do NOT need to print out the updated guidelines if you are already using
the July 2009 version, UNLESS you are in an event with specific guideline
changes as noted below. |
2/6/2010
- VA, DA and BT - At
the state and national levels, there will be an OPTION
to administer a written skill (ID instruments, breed
ID, ID parasites) immediately following the event
orientation and written test.
2/6/2010
- EMT - Changes to the oxygen administration
procedure.
2/6/2010
- BD - Teams will be
allowed the OPTION of bringing their prepared materials
on a laptop, running on battery power, for use
during the preliminary round and debate. Electricity
will NOT be provided.
2/6/2010
- OHC - Appearances before
a group, page 7 - the wording has been aligned
so that all three appearances have the same
scrapbook requirements.
2/6/2010 - BT - Procedure
II: Editorial improvements, including the
addition of a step, "Untied ties
at neck and waist."
8/28/2009 - Medical
Photography clarification - Print photos
will be used by the judges. IN ADDITION, a CD
with the photos in .jpeg format MUST be turned in
at the event for state AND national competition. The
photos submitted on the CD-ROM may be used in state
and national HOSA publications. BE SURE you
bring your three photographs in PRINT AND ELECTRONIC
(CD) format to state-level competitive events. If
you qualify for national competition, you will need
to reprint your photos and make another CD with your
photos for National HOSA Competitive Events.

Medical Reading book change. Delete "Young People
and Chronic Illness" and add "Dark Remedy." For
