The halls are busy and energetic
as HOSA members prepare for their orientations, exams and
procedures for events that begin today.
First thing in the morning, Round Two
competitors are posted for HOSA Bowl, Parliamentary Procedure,
Medical Reading and Creative Problem Solving. Delegates compete
in the second round of these events throughout the day.
The National Officer Candidates are busy
once again with the “Meet the Candidates’ Breakfast”
from 7:00 – 8:30 AM. Here, they greet the Voting Delegates
and have a chance to introduce themselves to those they might
not have had the opportunity to meet.

Approximately 120 judges arrive during
the day and attend orientations to help them fully understand
their role in the Competitive Events process. HOSA is extremely
thankful to the judges who volunteer their time to ensure
that each competitor has the best opportunity and experience
at this year’s NLC. Our judges make it possible for
students to compete in order to succeed.
Educational Symposiums take place throughout
the day and conference delegates are invited to attend as
many as they are able. Educational Symposiums are a great
tool for HOSA members because they learn about real world
issues and experience education outside the classroom. There
are a variety of different Educational Symposiums at this
year’s NLC ranging from “Resume Writing”,
“Hands on Anatomy in Clay – Myology: Build a Body”
to “Fighting Cancer in Your Community” and much
more!
The Business Session begins today at 3:00
PM. This session is open to all HOSA delegates at the National
Leadership Conference, but Voting Delegates are the only HOSA
members allowed to vote on the proposed motions and National
Officer Candidates. Voting concluded at 6:00 PM, and the results
will be announced on Friday evening at the Recognition Session.

It is
obvious that the delegates are having an exciting time meeting
new people, competing and spending
time with their HOSA friends. They look forward to the days
ahead and the possibility of being awarded for their achievements.
