Thursday morning got off to an exciting start with a 7 a.m.
breakfast for the Voting Delegates and National Officer Candidates. Today’s
breakfast was the candidates’ first opportunity to speak
with Voting Delegates.

advisors an opportunity to visit with HOSA staff in order to

Amy Gallimore led over 130 HOSA student leaders in the morning
and afternoon sessions of the HOSA Leadership Academy. After
these sessions, students are eager to return to their chapters
and the knowledge they have gained during the session.
Exhibitors opened booths at 9 a.m. to prepare for their second
day of the HOSA Exposition. It was busy for the exhibitors
as delegates visited booths throughout the day to learn more
about their organizations and products.
Approximately 180 judges arrived during the day to attend
their event orientations. HOSA is extremely thankful to the
judges who volunteer their time to ensure each competitor a
fair opportunity in each competition.
HOSA was proud to offer 28 Educational Symposiums on Thursday.
Educational Symposiums are a great tool for HOSA members to
learn about real world issues from professionals in the healthcare
industry. Educational Symposiums further classroom education
for both HOSA members and advisors. Examples Thursday’s
Educational Symposiums include Anatomy in Clay, Flight
Nursing, Medical Reserve Corps Overview, The Art of Baby Catching
and Autism Speaks.
The Business Session began at Thursday at 3 p.m. While the
session is open to all HOSA delegates, the Voting Delegates
are the only HOSA members allowed to vote on the proposed motions
and National Officer Candidates. This session gave National
Officer candidates an opportunity to speak to the Voting Delegate
Assembly before final votes were cast. Voting concluded at
5 p.m. and the results will be announced Friday evening at
the Recognition Session. Good Luck Candidates!
Even after an exhausting day of competition the HOSA spirit
remains strong as delegates continue making new friends and
spending time with their HOSA family.
