Verizon Innovative App Challenge

This national competition is for all middle and high school students to come up with a mobile app idea that will creatively solve a problem in their school or community.  There is no cost to enter and no coding experience or devices are needed.  Winning teams will receive mobile devices, up to $20,000 for their school, and the opportunity to be coached by MIT Media Lab professionals to build their app and bring it to Google Play store.  The winning students retain intellectual property rights to their app.

This past school year, nearly 1,000 schools, from every state and Washington, D.C., registered for the app challenge and 1,100 teams submitted app concepts. Many participating students were CTSO members.  All U.S. middle school and high school students are eligible for the App Challenge, regardless of their CTSO affiliation.

In the true spirit of competition, will you please let your members know about this opportunity by sharing the attached flyer? The 2016 Verizon Innovative App Challenge is underway. (Registration closes on November 24, 2015). Be sure to contact me if you have any questions or visit http://verizon.com/appchallenge2015.
