Middle School Division - Unique Experience to Help Young Students Connect, Be Informed and Visualize Being a Future Health Professional

HOSA-Future Health Professionals welcomes a new organizational division, the Middle School Division. At the National Leadership Conference, the 2015 Delegate Assembly voted to recognize the Middle School Division as a separate entity beginning with the 2015-2016 membership year.
The approved motion included the following:
- The Middle School Division shall be composed of students who are in grades 6-8 and are those interested in or planning to pursue a career in the health professions.
- The official definition for middle school members of HOSA for the purposes of Competitive Events is: A middle school student is one who: a) is enrolled in a state-approved health science program or is planning to pursue a career in the health professions; and b) has not been promoted to a secondary institution (grades 9-12) prior to the state’s annual conference.
- Members are eligible for competition at the national level in a middle school strand (noting there must be a minimum of three states in competition prior to a division being eligible for competition at the national level).
- National affiliation fee is $10.
- Middle School Handbook is available at the following link: Middle School Handbook
