HOSA Meets with White House Officials

On June 1, the National Coordinating Council of the Career and Technical Student Organizations (NCC-CTSOs) was invited to a listening session with Secretary Betsy DeVos.  The meeting was organized by the Office of Public Liaison which is led by Director George Sifakis, Assistant to the President, who welcomed the CTSO delegations consisting of a national student officer, an industry employer, and the organization's executive director. 

HOSA Members Named U.S. Presidential Scholars

The U.S. Presidential Scholars Program was established in 1964, by executive order of the President, to recognize and honor some of our nation's most distinguished graduating high school seniors. In 1979, the program was extended to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional talent in the visual, creative and performing arts. In 2015, the program was again extended to recognize students who demonstrate ability and accomplishment in career and technical education fields.

2017 Preparedness Summit

HOSA-Future Health Professionals, represented by Candy Leopold, Minnesota State Advisor and MRC Coordinator, served as a panelist at the MRC Town Hall Session during the 2017 Preparedness Summit in Atlanta, Georgia.  The focus of the Summit is to explore the factors driving change in our world, analyze how they will impact the future of public health preparedness, and identify opportunities we have today to drive action toward meeting our future needs.

HOSA Announces 2017 Public Health Leadership Scholars

HOSA-Future Health Professionals is pleased to announce the 2017 Public Health Leadership Scholar participants.  The week-long seminar is hosted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR) with support from the Office of the U.S. Surgeon General (OSG) and the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (USPHS). 
The following HOSA members, alumni, and advisors will attend in the Public Health Leadership Scholars program,
July 17-21 in Washington, D.C.

HOSA Members Rank in STEM Premier Top 100

Southlake, TX--On April 12, STEM Premier released the annual national ranking of the top 100 STEM high school students.  The list is comprised of high-achieving juniors and seniors from across the country with STEM Premier profiles that were rated and ranked the highest based on over 30 profile metrics including achievements, experiences, and more.  The final selection includes Presidential Service Award Winners, National Merit Scholars, Girl Scouts, and members of associations such as HOSA-Future Health Professionals, and more.

Oklahoma HOSA honors Capt. Mike Brode

Every year Oklahoma HOSA recognizes individuals who have given their time and talents to the members and our conferences.  This year Oklahoma presented the 2017 Oklahoma HOSA Honorary Member to Capt. Mike Brode.    
 
Mike joined his local HOSA chapter at the Academy for Technology and Academics in Conway, SC in August 2006 when he started the school's pre-med program as a junior.  In 2007, Mike was thrilled to represent South Carolina at the National Leadership Conference in Orlando where he also competed in the EMT competition.
