HOSA Members Rank in STEM Premier Top 100

Southlake, TX--On April 12, STEM Premier released the annual national ranking of the top 100 STEM high school students.  The list is comprised of high-achieving juniors and seniors from across the country with STEM Premier profiles that were rated and ranked the highest based on over 30 profile metrics including achievements, experiences, and more.  The final selection includes Presidential Service Award Winners, National Merit Scholars, Girl Scouts, and members of associations such as HOSA-Future Health Professionals, and more.

Oklahoma HOSA honors Capt. Mike Brode

Every year Oklahoma HOSA recognizes individuals who have given their time and talents to the members and our conferences.  This year Oklahoma presented the 2017 Oklahoma HOSA Honorary Member to Capt. Mike Brode.    
 
Mike joined his local HOSA chapter at the Academy for Technology and Academics in Conway, SC in August 2006 when he started the school's pre-med program as a junior.  In 2007, Mike was thrilled to represent South Carolina at the National Leadership Conference in Orlando where he also competed in the EMT competition. 
 

Favorite Classroom Activity

HOSA partner, ANATOMY IN CLAY®, invites local chapters to submit their favorite classroom activity using Anatomy in Clay Learning Systems and Models. Chapters who submit an entry could win a Sports Medicine Model package for the classroom (valued at $1,015) and a $100 Amazon gift card.  The winning activity will be announced at the 2017 International Leadership Conference in Orlando, FL.

HOSA's partner, CVS Health has just announced an exciting opportunity for pharmacy school students--CVS's first-ever Spanish Immersion Internship Program.  The 2017 Spanish Immersion Internship provides the CVS and non-CVS intern the opportunity to participate in the care of patients with a variety of acute and chronic conditions, focusing on the Hispanic community and utilizing the Spanish language.

HOSA is proud to announce a new HOSA Intern Program with the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR), in Washington, D.C. this summer (May-August 2017).  You will be allowed to attend HOSA's International Leadership Conference if you wish to attend.  And if there are other dates with your summer schedule that are of concern, there "might" be some flexibility with the schedule

Louisiana HOSA Member Peyton Pipher Wins Contest to Go to Inauguration

BELLE CHASSE - A high school freshman and HOSA member will be packing his bags and heading to Washington, D.C. for the presidential inauguration. It's a dream come true for a teenager, who has known since grammar school, that he wants to run for public office.  You may not know who Peyton Pipher, 14, is, but give him time. Since fifth grade, he's had a passion for leadership, politics and the news.
